What’s up guys, I’m Coach B, owner of the Training Ground OC Strength and Conditioning gym. As I’m sure you know, Newport Beach is home to a vast number of personal trainers, gyms and exercise classes, so first off I would like to say welcome to our website, and that I am excited for this opportunity to talk to you a little bit about what makes us so different from all the other options out there.
Unfortunately, finding a quality Newport Beach personal trainer can seem a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack. While great personal trainers are out there, most are not focused on client results, as they should be, but instead take the easy, lazy route with clients that only results in wasted time and money, along with a big dose of frustration on the part of the client. When I began my business, I made it my top priority to ensure that this would never be an issue at Training Ground OC. Our training style, program design and even the very layout of our facility is designed with only two things in mind: maximum client results and satisfaction.
This results-driven mentality has allowed us to create some of the highest-rated programs and fitness training services in all of Orange County. One of the most common things we hear from clients who have experienced other trainers in the past is that our programs are not even comparable.
It’s important for me to note before we go too much further that our gym is NOT for everybody! We strive to maintain a culture of commitment, motivation and hard working attitudes that are critical to obtaining the results we care so much about. We work best with those who are fully focused on applying the skills they learn with us towards achieving their goals. We don’t work well with excuse-makers or lazy, uncommitted people who want results without the hard work that it takes to achieve them.

Training with Coach B at Training Ground OC was probably the best decision I’ve ever made to augment my athletic performance. As a former collegiate and current Masters level competitive swimmer, I’ve always focused on keeping my cardiovascular conditioning levels up to help me win my races. However, I rarely went to the gym or performed resistance training because I was under the assumption that swimmers didn’t have a big need for it and there wasn’t much benefit to weight training for my particular sport.
Last year however, I was beginning to get frustrated by the plateaus that I was unable to break when it came to improving my times in the various events that I compete in. And to be honest, I wasn’t happy with where my body was at either. I didn’t feel healthy even though I swam for many hours every day, and I didn’t feel like my body reflected the fiercely-competitive athlete that I was inside.

Take PCH to Superior and turn North-bound. Continue to 17th St and take a left. Continue till you pass Pomona Ave. Our gym is halfway between Pomona Ave and Placentia Ave on the left side in the 17 West industrial park.
