What’s up guys, I’m Coach B, owner of the Training Ground OC Strength and Conditioning gym. I want to welcome you to our website and take a moment to address the questions you probably have about who we are, what kinds of programs we offer and whether or not our facility is exactly what you’re looking for.
Let me start off by saying that Training Ground OC is not your typical gym—we don’t have a huge facility filled with endless hordes of weight lifting and cardio machines, we don’t offer floofy “feel good” fitness classes that leave you feeling like you could have been more challenged, and most importantly, we don’t try to cater our services to anyone and everyone.
Our facility is the home to several of the most effective specialty fitness programs in Costa Mesa as well as a very exclusive, tightly-knit community of athletes that we think of as family. Now, when I say “athletes” I’m not necessarily referring to professional or collegiate-level athletes (although we do have these types of athletes in many our programs)—to us, an “athlete” is a state of mind rather than strictly a profession. An athlete is someone who takes their training and nutrition seriously—they come to us to train, not to just “work out.” Likewise, they focus on optimizing their eating habits to maximize their results and see the most bang for their buck, rather than spinning their wheels fruitlessly with half-hearted efforts.
Our athletes include teenagers looking to gain strength and size, to stay-at-home mothers looking to regain their youthful bodies, to busy business executives who need an efficient, time-saving program, to serious fitness athletes looking to dominate in bikini, figure or physique competitions. While their goals may be different, the one thing that is shared by each of our athletes is the will to succeed. My name is Alex, and this is the story of my journey to fitness. It all started about 7 months ago, when a co-worker introduced me to CORE Condition at Training Ground OC. At the time, I weighed 270 pounds, was at a high risk for diabetes and was extremely unhealthy. Take the 55-S till it ends at Newport Blvd. Continue South on Newport Blvd until you reach 17th St. Take a right on 17th St and continue till you pass Pomona Ave. Our gym is halfway between Pomona Ave and Placentia Ave on the left side in the 17 West industrial park.
